Bitcoin core devs hold themselves to higher standards, from what I have seen. They might not always agree but shit gets done, and they have a damn good track record with quality audited code. If they fail this, or start sperging out, my faith will fail in them too. I'm not married to them, but up until now they have proven themselves.
