McDonalds has faced all kinds of challenges and they've responded reasonably without going crazy and changing who they are. That's the important thing in terms of their management: they will look for room to improve without trying to become something else. What they are is a cheap convenient burger (and other food) joint. And so they shall remain.

Also Jalapeno McChicken is their best cyclical menu item and the ONLY chicken-based sandwich that you should be ordering, unless you're ordering some of their mcNuggy based sandwiches from the secret premium elite menu.

(if) a democratic president wins, I can just see all these people my age with all their debt being SUPER excited for like a month until they find out that no, not all their debt is getting forgiven, and it will be something like a partial interest freeze.
I can just imagine , I can vividly see, all these mid-20's and 30's year old kids throwing tantrums all over social media and in real life when it happens. I can almost recite the future whining reddit posts now.
Because certainly as 2020 gets closer all these politicians will keep falling over each other to try and pander harder, and to pander more comprehensively to everyone they can. And these people with student loans, or expensive health issues, etc. will all start seeing dollar signs in their eyes, just like the way people on this board get hopeful for link $1000 EoY or LCI to $30 any day now.
And then, these people will have to eventually face the reality that their student loans aren't getting paid for, that their health problems are expensive because they're fat, that either Donny T is president again or some democrat who doesn't need to pander to them anymore. This kind of stuff already happened around the Bernie campaign in 2016, but I see it being so much more pronounced this time around.

Basically this whole election cycle will do a good job of showing the entitlement of not only the boomers (their entitlement is omnipresent, it's almost background noise at this point), but the rising whine of the indebted millennial will become a howl. And then the best part, even IF they do get something, it surely won't be enough, it won't be what they imagined or what they thought they were "promised".

If they get bought by/partner with a big drug seller, the partner will be the seller/manufacturer. Because they already do that.
That's how most of these things go.
Very few (like, NONE) of the little research-stage biotech companies have the goal of being an in-house show where they do everything from inventing to selling a drug. that makes about as much sense as a drug company hiring a thousand doctors to administer the drug.
