I am 24, have spent 5 years trying to finish a Bachelors degree, I have absolutely nothing to show for it. I have not even finished half my degree and at this point I hate what I am studying, I only continue because of the sunk cost fallacy and the fact that I feel an overwhelming pressure from my friends, family and society that in order to be successful this is my only option.

I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, I am paralysed to pursue anything am truly interested in, career or education wise because I constantly have this degree which I can't fucking stand hanging over my head, needing to be completed before I can truly start doing the things I really "want" to do, at the same time, having a degree is something I want to do. It is too late for me to start another degree/switch courses, I can't stand the fucking thought of dragging out this feeling of dread I feel about uni so many more years. I wish I had the balls to just say fuck you to everyone around me, drop out, not give a fuck at all what anyone thinks and just try and pave my own way.

Basically, the point of this gay rant is to ask if there are any older, wiser anons who may have experienced similar who can point me in a direction or give any advice at all.
