>2003
>"Hey kids, when you grow up you need to go to college. No, it's seriously a requirement. If you don't go to college you will never ever make any respectable amount of money and will be forced into a cycle of low paying jobs that only barely satisfy the bills. It doesn't matter the cost, it will easily be paid back in full when you graduate with a good jobm It doesn't matter whar the degree is, you just need a degree. Most people don't even have them, you will be the cream of the crop. Trust us, we are your teachers, heroes, family members, and are all adults with decades of life experience and wisdom over you."

>2013
>"Yea, why the he would you get a degree in anything other than STEM? STEM is all that counts. There's a shortage of STEM because they're the REAL HARD degrees to get. If you get one of those you will get a good life. Just go to school and get STEM, you'll be just fine. Only reason people get burned by college is because they didn't get STEM. It's impossible for STEM to get oversaturated because it's so difficult."

>2016
>"Yea why the fuck would retards go to college in the first place? Just learn a trade. Everyone has a degree now so they're worthless. Trades are where the real jobs are."

Hey boomer, your wordly advice is a few years old. You may wanna update to the latest Jew firmware upgrade. If you want, you can wait until 2023 where the next upgrade happens after we all flood trade schools following your advice and oversaturated that market too.

You say this as if a STEM degree is worth anything anymore. You need to update your jew programming; complaining about kids getting useless degrees in 2020 is like complaining about kids not getting a degree in 2008. Now the new hot shit is to blame kids for going to school at all instead of joining a trade. I wonder what red herring will turn into a scapegoat once trades become worthless because of oversaturation due to Boomers giving Zoomers advice from the Stone age.

>"Why didn't you move to India where all the opportunities are like all the smart and successful kids?"

I say this as a CompSci graduate who after 5 years of experience, a portfolio of practically applied programs that my company has literally rolled out to replace it's old janky ass Java applications, and a constantly growing skillset since I'm always learning new languages just for fucking fun. You'll get passed up on even basic jobs like Data Analyst in favor of someone from India. That or a nepotist hire who doesn't know how to do the fucking job but it's fine because Apu lifts the heavy weights for him while he browses 9gag and imgur all day.

B-b-but STEM degrees have value right?

I know people with master's degrees who work at grocery stores stocking product.

>Harvard professor Harvey Mansfield is a longtime vocal opponent of grade inflation at his alma mater. In 2013, Mansfield, after hearing from a dean that "the most frequent grade is an A"
>rising grades did not become a major issue in American education until the 1960s. For example, in 1890 Harvard's average GPA was 2.27. In 1950, its average GPA was 2.55. By 2004, its GPA, as a result of dramatic rises in the 1960s and gradual rises since, had risen to 3.48
