I'm a sole proprietorship. I started business in late 2014. I filed an extension so taxes are due this month.

Can I file myself using something like TaxAct? Or do I need to contract a CPA for a couple hours?

Small business noob getting ready for taxes.

What do I need to report? A lot of my income was in checks that I deposited into my checking account. I'm guessing I need to report that, right? But how much do I need to report as income? Other than checks it's cash or venmo, I don't need to report any of those, right? Help me figure it out so I know what I can expect. I ask because I didn't realize good ol uncle sam would want a chunk of what I was making when I first started, I don't have money saved to pay that.

Pic as unrelated as possible
