It's obvious that the energy consumption of coins like BTC is a massive phantom looming over the crypto ecosystem. Many are bold enough to suggest that the astronomical amount of energy required for a coin like BTC to operate simply represents an 'evolutionary barrier' that we can tackle by devoting innumerable researchers, engineers, and politicians to increase nuclear output by orders of magnitude, or that this is really an opportunity for the world to come together and embrace 'safe' and "sustainable" wind, solar, etc.
It seems clear that these dramatic """plans""" for how such a world would operate are completely unnecessary and in many cases downright hyperbolic.
Why would we completely rework our energy infrastructure to accommodate the ludicrous energy consumptions of many of these coins, given that there are, frankly, superior coins that couldn't consume 1% of the amount of energy used by those other coins, even if the whole entire planet got together and really put their backs into it.

I definitely don't see a future for the coins that are gluttonous black holes for electricity. Cryptocurrencies are 'disruptive' because they provide people with a safer, more secure, more convenient, and more accessible alternative to current monetary systems. They're so disruptive because everyone wants to use them. As for the coins that are 'disruptive' in that they demand an incredibly drastic overhaul of energy infrastructure (which is apparently completely unrelated to finance, security, or personal liberty), this """"""feature"""""" is the exact opposite of a selling point. The only coins that will be capable of true global adoption will be those whose existence isn't a colossal burden for everyone involved. Cardano Cardano Cardano. Are there any other coins that take the energy issue nearly as seriously, or handle it nearly as effectively as ADA?
