That may be true, but a lot of it just people who get some idea in their head about going up against a large company and winning. They lose all their financial sense, get sunken cost fallacy, and use confirmation bias to support the idea that they're right.

A good example of this is when that Tesla broke down on the Nurburgring track and got 'lapped by a Porsche. For any rational person, they wouldn't care because they understand cars break down all the time, especially in extreme testing, but for the bears it was like a sign from God and they wouldn't stop talking about it for weeks. Even the media covered it, which is the second part of this issue because they're doing the stock equivalent of fear mongering and the bears don't realize it's mostly just a ploy to get people to pay attention to them.
