Yeah that's true. I still remember the "silver squeeze" 2 years ago. People put so much money into this and in the end only PM dealers and shitco miners' CEOs made money.
I hold some gold too, but it's kind of part of my culture. Not sure why I need it really at this point.

USA is where it wanted to be. Fed and US gov created worldwide inflation by printing dollars to buy assets around the world. Domestic prices in foreign countries went up because they had to compete with USA buyers. This disrupted world economy.
As a result, citizens of those countries lost trust in local currencies and are buying dollars, hence the recent gain in strength.
In short, USA won, rest of the world lost and will now struggle.
The only way for foreign currencies to save themselves is to attach themselves to something real, like Russia did with Rubel during sanctions. I think that's part of the reason why East is buying so much gold and silver at premium.
