A few days ago an old friend messaged me for advice about a stash of constitutional silver he lucked upon, final tally is 700 quarters, 128 halves and 580 dimes. Pretty amazing treasure score, he wasn't a stacker or collector before but spent 2 months studying the coins under magnification for errors and rarities and learned a shitload in the process. He says he may need to sell a little to cover bills but is hustling at work to try to avoid selling, worst case he'll keep at least 2/3rds including all the Mercs and Walkers because he now understands the value and appeal of precious metals. I periodically talked about coins with him and his older brother who started collecting uncirculated Morgans a while ago after lots of exposure and encouragement from me, makes me very happy that he now understands too and has a 200oz instastack so won't get totally screwed when the dollar dies. He knows it was likely a once in a lifetime find and doesn't intend to squander it. My vicarious happiness is off the charts knowing he's GMI.
