I don't think the clinical trials are stalling though, if anything it sounded in last weeks AMA webinar like the trial is moving ahead full speed and they're expanding access to TPOXX in more regions. As to whether the case count is actually declining, I have my doubts about the (((official))) data. For example the positivity rate reported by CDC is calculated by specimens rather than by patient. It's not uncommon for someone who's monkepox poz to return some negative specimens so the test positivity rate of actual patients is much higher than what's deceptively reported. Also Welensky basically testified to Congress that their data reporting system is fucked and the CDC struggles to aggregate all the states' data, CDC has no idea how many people are currently hospitalized with monkepox. All to say, monkepox isn't over
