[DISCLAIMER] : Yeah I'm new at this so I'll probably get laughed out of the room, but I'm just looking for some advice

I'm a student so I'm just trying to set aside a little bit of money to invest rather than just have it sitting around. maybe $1k.

Been doing research on good coins to invest in but some of the actual mechanics of the trading itself has me confused.

From what I understand, the typical flow of buying an altcoin goes something like

-Buy BTC or ETH on coinbase
-Send to exchange wallet
-Buy the coin you're investing in
-Let it sit in exchange wallet

-> but then this is where I get confused, once you have the altcoin in the exchange wallet, where do you go from there once it goes up and you're ready to sell?

Do you just exchange it for BTC and send the BTC back to Coinbase?

And lets say you DO end up with ($1,000,000 for example) in a Cryptocurrency, how do you go about turning that into usable fiat money?

I heard that banks have been freezing accounts for crypto transactions, but how would you even go about withdrawing millions of dollars into cash?

Would love a rundown of how the whole process works if anyone had the time or patience.
