I was watching an interview with some finance guy trying and failing to explain the GameStop situation and I realized why he does not and cannot "get it". Quite simply, wallstreetbets and the wider longtail retail traders of which /smg/ is a part, is become an emergent collective intelligence, a massively distributed trading entity. Something completely new, a Deus Ex Machina character. From the perspectives of traditional traders and analysts what's happening looks random, looks like gambling when in fact the slice of retail working in concert here is operating on a higher sophisticated level. It's like trying to deterministically explain how Alpha Go beat Lee Seedol or trying to analyze the chess moves of Deep Blue. You just can't. A new player is on the scene and everything has now changed. Maybe it'll go away when this is over but I wouldn't bet on it. Maybe the hedge funds and big money will co-opt it. But what if they can't. It's hard to co-opt something you not just don't but can't understand.

Im holding, I refuse to sell at a loss anymore. Any time I have, it bounces back up and I feel like a jackass. We might have to wait 6 mos-year, but it might bounce back post election/holiday season. Who knows?! I just know once sold, my loss is official. Waiting is the hardest part. Lessons in patience and stonks.
