Dividends are for companies that don't need to waste excess cash on growth when their growth comes organically. it also entices people to purchase the stock. Rapid growth companies don't pay dividends but also usually have a very high P/E

Are you saying that JNJ, PG, ITW, and other dividend aristocrats don't grow?
