I'm always here. It's enjoyable. Gone a lot from home, obviously. I work for a major, and it took me 5 years to get here. 2 years of flight school/cfi grinding to 1500 hours, and 3 years at a regional, 1 of those years being a captain.

The money for the first 5 years was atrocious. I didn't make $80k until my last year as a regional captain. Now that I'm at the majors, the money is comfy, but there's a growing threat of furlough thanks to the chink virus. However, there are many different routes you can take besides just 121 operations. Overall, the airlines are worth it to me. I've got good healthcare, 14% DC 401(k), and unlimited nonrev pass travel. I got to see Europe and Japan so far for free.
