Scammers dump tokens into your wallet which will show a value of hundreds/thousands of dollars, but when you try to sell it the transaction fee will be really high e.g. $50-100USD (for BSC). So you sell it and it either fails but you lose the fee or it goes through but you get way less than you expect i.e. less than the transaction fee (and either way the scammers get that transaction fee).

If you play around with real smelly smallcap shitcoins you will get these tokens dumped on you sooner or later.
