Why did I come here and take financial advice from a bunch of racist anime teenagers? I lost so much goddamn money. It was years of savings. I need some help. What is wrong with me? Life wasn't supposed to be like this.

I work at a top research school in the US and a few of my close colleagues have been working on a paper revealing some of the links between cryptocurrencies and support of serious crime including child pornography, terrorism, drug trafficking, kidnapping and extortion, and human trafficking. This same exposure has occurred many times before but I believe this time is different given that 1) there are currently (two) high-interest international criminal cases in the news right now that both have a soon-to-be-revealed link to cryptocurrency, and 2) some of the close personal connections my colleagues have with a number of law enforcement contacts, lawmakers, and journalists at very high-profile media outlets and 3) the increased stake held by institutional investors today compared to previous years. There will be a much larger storm than the previous times that similar has happened leading to a mass sell-off by major holders who will be scared by the bad press, talk of push for bans and further regulation and possible congress hearings.

I myself hold a significant stack of a few cryptocurrencies but have sold everything in the past few days and will get back in when the dust has settled.

The paper is finalized but there is a (26-day long) embargo on its publication. When that expires you will see hit-pieces in every major media publication across America.

If you're in crypto, get ready to sell before buying back in at a better time.

I work at a top research school in the US and a few of my close colleagues have been working on a paper revealing the supposed links between cryptocurrencies and support of serious crime including child pornography, terrorism, drug trafficking, kidnapping and extortion, and human trafficking. This has happened many times before but this time is different given that 1) there are currently (two) high-interest international criminal cases in the news right now that both have a soon-to-be-revealed link to cryptocurrency, and 2) some of the close personal connections my colleagues have with a number of law enforcement contacts, lawmakers, and journalists at very high-profile media outlets and 3) the increased stake held by institutional investors today compared to previous years. There will be a much larger storm than the previous times that similar has occurred including a mass temporary sell-off by major holders who will be scared by the bad press, talk of push for bans and further regulation and possible congress hearings.

I myself hold a significant stack of a few cryptocurrencies but understanding the danger of this I have sold everything in the past few days and will get back in when the dust has settled.

The paper is finalized but there is a (one) month embargo on its publication. When that expires you will see hit-pieces in every major media publication across America.
