In the past what Russians called a Ruble used to be a chunk of silver that they'd cut off pieces from to pay for things. People thinking about prices in terms of pure, raw metal weight is much better than some fake and gay face value. I don't want silver dollars. I don't want gold Franks. Or Goldmarks. Or even silver Reichsmarks. I want to pay for things in plain, pure gold and silver weight. Anything but that is a scam to me. Fuck the government and their fake money. I want God's money. I might not get it but I'll fight for it.
>Rubles were parts of the grivna or pieces of silver with notches indicating their weight. Each grivna was divided into four parts; the name "ruble" came from the word "cut" because the silver rod weighing 1 grivna was split into four parts, which were called rubles.
