US hegemony has led to the most corrupt, bloated and twisted husk of what was once unironically the greatest and freest nation on earth. Now it's like we're living in the fall of rome; it will take decades, but whatever rises from the ashes will be hopefully better than what is there now. The glory days are long over (>>54466181).
For example, the founding fathers of the USA abhored the idea of a central bank and fiat currency, but eventually weak enough men made it to presidency which allows the floodgates of corruption to burst forth. This change can never be reversed (JFK tried) until the current system collapses.
