i'm of the belief that "hot compost forgives all sins" - meaning that if you process the faeces with a high-carbon material and let the compost heat up to 160 degrees farenheit, then after it's done age it for one year, there will be significantly less trace pharmaceuticals, disease or whatever left in the material. I'd be interested to do some testing on this however, I wonder if I can get a grant to open up a humanure research institute.
