How do you stack your gold: old gold coins or modern bullion? And which is superior?

So what would a new gold standard for the USD look like and how would silver be valued relative to the dollar or would it be a silver standard? And would we see a return to cents having actual value like in the late 1800s/early 1900s?

In the case of Gold Eagles, it’s due to the trace elements of other metals in the alloy used to make the gold blanks. They use a little bit of copper (to strengthen it) and silver (to add to the its brilliance). The AGEs end up being .999 pure

In the case of Gold Buffalos, they’re struck in pure 24k gold blanks. They have a purity of .9999 as opposed to the AGEs so you’re technically getting more gold per ounce with the Buffalos but don’t ever try to fondle Buffalos due to the malleability of pure gold.
