The problem you and other UBI proponents run into is that while you are well meaning, you look at UBI and say 'I would responsibly use that money to survive, and if someone like me can handle it, then it should be a no brainer! I'm nothing special'. And that's where you're wrong.

Most people are stupid. Up until the Victorian era, the trend was that overall intelligence of the populations of Europe and north America was increasing. Consider what centuries of executing people for crimes (even petty crimes) does in removing low control, violent individuals from the pool. Consider that being too lazy to gather fuel meant your family froze, and that fucking your wife constantly when you were too poor to eat meant that your children (and probably the wife) would starve. There is a clear disparity between the breeding outcomes of the upper and lower class that's visible even in Victorian fiction. The more capable, on the average, had more kids survive to breeding age.

This changed with the industrial revolution, which made energy cheap and distributed the capability and economic output of a few bright persons down to the peons. People who would have frozen now had coal or gas heating cheaply. Improvements in agricultural practice allowed not only trade surpluses of food, but for more than could reasonably be consumed by the hungry. Suddenly, many of the constraints against the survival of the stupid and the impatient were lifted, and a new subclass of people that nature would have killed was brought into existence. And these are white Europeans we're talking about.

They are the reason I don't have much faith in /pol/ tier ethnostate dreams. They are the (primary) reason UBI cannot work. They are fundamentally takers in any society, and I can't disagree with calling them goyim, since they act like cattle; content to graze, fuck, and be slaughtered. I'm honestly glad that our fake fiat system is going to bleed them dry. They deserve it.

This is a pretty severe blackpill, but it needs to be understood. Reading the correspondence of Englishmen and Americans as last as the 1860s feels like talking to an entirely different species, even when the individual in question wasn't a man of letters. Random shopkeepers and low level commissioned officers come across as more literate and expressive than most modern academics.
