The entire purpose of markets is "supposedly" price discovery. When people can buy and sell, the market provides efficiencies in that it can find the ideal price to clear the most transactions, thereby meeting buyer and sellers.
What the "meme stock" craze has discovered is that market participants are operating a fraudulent system in order to harness and capture the market mechanism efficiencies for themselves.
The stock market has effectively become a wealth extraction mechanism. By having all of the people pay in to financial institutions such as banks, 401ks, pensions, insurance etc, the financial system and the government have been stealing our resources and replacing them with toxic/bogus IOUs. It is only now that we can see them trying to contend with the fact that the rest of the world is not cooperating with the American system, and all of the trillions of dollars worth of paper-IOUs are soon to be worth far less than what we all think they should be. Wallstreet was operating a ponzi scheme and attempting to be naked short before a major market crash, however the fact that we isolated a single security meant we were exposing the lack of market fundamentals as they have been unable to unwind the short position at these prices when no one is selling back the shares they counterfeited. It's become a scam, and I highly recommend people begin looking to physical capital assets such as gold and silver outside of the banking system because the whole thing is clearly a ponzi scheme.
