Everyone here knows crypto is a circlejerk. i.e. polygon has value because ethereum has value because NFTs have value because etc... But there's no intrinsic value actually entering or leaving the system. Right?

So what makes the tech industry different? Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook. They provide tangible services, but most of their revenue just stems from enabling other services in the ecosystem. Amazon is a web server company. Google and facebook are advertising companies. The tech companies that try to derive value from real world services almost always fail to generate profit. Tesla, Uber, Amazon (before AWS) etc.

Crypto mimics that in the sense it's mostly detached from intrinsic value. Coins exist as a % of the overall pie, their price is not based on real value. Utility coins are cucked because utility is not the point. Meme coins dominate because they suck value out of the greater ecosystem. But where does the original value come from? Money printing?

First it was the internet, then websites, then social media, then apps, then crypto, then dapps, then ???. The Tech industry just keeps growing. I don't think crypto and tech are similar things, I think they are the same thing.
So following that trend, what should I buy now?

I currently hold LINK and ICP. I was dumb enough to FOMO in when both were at 50

Found this website that tracks cryptocurrency mentions across 81 subreddits. Over the last 3 months ICP is way down the list. Behind XLM, LUNC and Link.

My hunch is the average retail investor saw ICP's terrible price action on launch, and never heard about it ever again. Most of the esoteric discussion mostly never left /biz/. And the typical jeet posting moved on-chain to icp dapps, balkanized from the rest of the web. If the rumors of SBF's involvement with the launch are true, then a leak could easily be the catalyst for changing retail's sentiment. Or it might be a nothingburger who knows
