Plenty of people are "buying" gold/silver right now because even the mainstream media is shilling it. I watch CNBC a lot (usually playing in the background at work) to keep up with what the dumb money is doing, and just the other day they had a whole piece on gold. Also Jim Cramer on Mad Money is now saying "10-20%" for portfolio insurance, when he used to say 5-10%.

Of course, when people call in and ask about gold (more and more nowadays) he always says buy the GLD. So the normie interest is picking up, and most of them are piling into the fake paper markets. Either direct investing, or more likely through their 401k or IRAs. That's bullish for physical gold because when liquidity hits the fan everyone is going to find out how massively inflated the ETFs and other paper funds really are. Demand for real, PHYSICAL metals will far outpace the supply for physical metals.

What's hilarious to me is that the (((custodian))) and primary authorized dealer for the SLV is JP fucking Morgan. The custodian for the GLD is HSBC. That isn't going to end well

Hmm, got it thanks. But why would the original company take the $40k versus $60k+ that they'd eventually get from you? Are they running short on money and need capital/liquidity now?
