since this is the impromptu short general, do those lifts that you can put in normal shoes to gain a few inches of height actually work or do they look dumb and obvious?

Long story short, I took a job working with my uncle for about 3 months last year that payed pretty decent by my standards being used to working minimum wage. I made $7000 and no taxes were taken out as I was a contractor under a 1099. Later in the year, when I was back to making $13/hr, I had some unexpected vehicle and medical expenses and blew through all my savings. I figure I owe about $1000 - $2000 on this $7000 I made, and I simply don’t have it. This is my first year filing taxes and I barely know what I’m doing. How bad is it if I just don’t file? Will this effect my credit and will I face criminal charges?
