The lowest cashier at Walmart out earns a doctor for 8 years while he's at school, and doesn't start year 9 with fuckloads of student debt. Assuming the doctor doesn't wash out or change his study and spend even MORE time in school, the doctor will take several years just to break even with the cashier while paying off his loans. If you do this with someone like an HVAC repairman who actually makes good money, it becomes almost impossible for the doctor to make up the time/debt gap.
