Here's where I'm lost. How do you not lose money if the strike price isn't hit? I thought call options are a contract in which you have to sell your option at its expiration.
I don't understand how you're not losing out on your premium.

English translation is roughly "to be dumped on" or "The one who has been dumped upon". It comes from an ancient Japanese myth of a frog who lowered a leaf full of water on to a greedy wart ridden toad (in some versions a river snake)

No one can stop exchanges like Binance from popping up and listing coins. Decentralization means anyone can put up an address for you to deposit, trade, and withdraw. No one can stop you from doing this. Eventually we will see legitimate DEX's with no central authority that could be potentially compromised either. Right now Binance is doing the next best thing with it's tax setup and undisclosed locations for servers/hosting/operations. Everyone saying regulation will come doesn't understand it is like chasing a ghost. The age of decentralization is upon us and it cannot be stopped. Bloated legacy institutions trying to hold onto their power will only be hurting themselves as others gain a competitive edge.

Is it time to sell artwork yet?
Recession coming, inflationary period (maybe), people may anticipate this and a premium on artwork by well known artists (obviously) will be higher.
I want to dump the cash into crypto preferably in the next 6 months when Bitcoin comes back down a bit (5-6 k region).

Thoughts?

I have 2 positions

0xchan (decentralized 4chan)
purpose (athenes game)

these 2 have no liquidity so no way to take out money or take out with huge losses. so Im just keeping them until next bull run

rest of my money 80% are for trading until 2020 bull run

do you have any money in tokens/coins that you CANT pull out because of liquidity issues or other issues and you are kinda just keeping them?

Ive been in crypto for just over a year now. This is painful. Can come people who've been here for 5+ years explain how do you get thru this? How is this going to unfold? Does the sentiment just change instantly at one point or is it gradual process you mostly are unaware of?

>If the government succeeded in taking your guns
First of all that's never happening, although we might have to watch out for drone swarm tech emerging.
But yes, this new economic dynamic directly contradicts the desire of governments to impose monopoly pricing for protection services. As you suggested, governments will lose their power of compulsion over money. In the past, megapolitical transitions have been associated with changes in the character of money.

It's no secret the crypto has had a hard bear market for pretty much the whole year, and watching how this board, was well as the rest of the community and beyond reacts to just a few days of bullish upswing. Everyone is very, very desperate for a bull market by now. So, why aren't we getting one?

A few reasons:
1. The crash at the beginning of this year left a sour taste in everyone's mouths. People have good reason to have a bearish attitude.
2. Jews, Bogs, Lizardmen. Whatever you'd like to call them, it's obvious just by taking a look at any graph that shows the price ceilings and floors over a course of a few months that someone or a group of people are seriously manipulating some of the biggest coins in crypto.
3. This can also be partly blamed on the companies and people behind the crypto everyone is looking towards for some semblance of structure and security. *cough LINK cough*

Lets take Chainlink for example, since I decided to mention it. Sergey has received endorsements and partnerships from some of the biggest names out there, clean and impressive blockchain, a huge fanbase of loyal linkies. So, whats the problem? Well, it's Sergey himself.

Sergey has done honestly nothing with his huge headstart that some up and coming ICO's would kill for.

This isn't a thread to shit on Chainlink. Hell, I'm holding some LINK bags myself, the point is it's obvious to a lot of people that even the top names in crypto have become complacent and bearish themselves.

So, with all of this in mind, what does 2019 hold in store for Crypto as a whole? We really wont know, but I can tell you where it's headed if everyone's attitude doesn't change, and it's into obscurity. I'm not crying for bears to stop what they're doing, but I'm only offering a warning, that if you turn to many people into bears, the market is never going to recover. Every pump will be a "bull trap" and every promising coin will be a shitcoin until there's nothing left.

1. If I understand correctly, it is calling for what is essentially an annual "bank run" on exchanges. At the very least, it's a good thing for people to understand how to withdraw funds, generate private keys, and manage their keys safely. Without this basic knowledge there will never be any form of individual sovereignty in our future. Concerns about this on behalf of large institutions are what led to a huge focus on custodial solutions this year.
2. If there is enough traction for the meme to take off it will probably be a clusterfuck. Such an enormous increase in traffic would cause the btc network to slow to a crawl. Also since it is likely that most exchanges can (and do) trade with your balance in the same way that a bank might loan out your deposit to earn interest, this will limit their ability to manipulate. However we also know that most exchanges impose withdrawal restrictions to protect from a sudden drop in liquidity or stolen funds. If this is circumvented by enough users with proper verification then it's possible most exchanges (except maybe binance) will just shutdown for a bit kek. If that does happen, it will further cement the importance of managing your own keys since doing so is the only way to protect yourself from unforeseen downtime. Whatever DOES happen, you can be sure various media outlets and shills will be sensationalizing every bit of news in order to squeeze out more swings. All of this chaos would make a perfect storm for Satoshi to mythically appear and dump his coins, which is why I think that part is absolutely fake and gay.

Thats why you use this board to make money to prepare.

Whether its crypto, stocks, getting a better job, or starting a business, doesn't matter. What matters is that you prepare. Id suggest putting some money back from a couple of guns, ammunition, and non perishable food. If you have a spouse and kids, (im guessing) you're the head of the household, so your main focus should be the well being of your kids and your significant other.

Don't fall for the boomer trap and invest in dumbshit gold/silver for the crash. If things get really really bad people are only gonna care if you can eat, drink, or shoot something.

I find myself going back and forth between blackpill and whitepill. On one hand we are incredibly close to the fourth industrial revolution and the newfound potential that it will bring. However in some instances the damage that is being done may have very drastic, long lasting effects like huge demographic shifts or miscegenation. The authoritarians you mention are already here: in the form of a progressive technocracy which constantly bullies or outright censors whomever stands in its way. The governing elite's complete disavow of its citizens in favor of diversity/social justice (which itself is merely a tool to increase the power of said elites) is arguably the catalyst for a nationalist like Trump to get elected in the first place. Meanwhile the so-called "democratic socialists" are causing a schism in the left as we know it. Identity politics can only be taken so far before all parties involved begin eating themselves.
>>11834295
Right now it appears that technology will inevitably advance to such an extent that traditional nation states and centralized governing structures will be impossible to enforce. I don't think it will be cyberpunk in the sense that we have huge transnational mega corps because this tech will also empower (sovereign) individuals. Organizations may become more fluid, forming and breaking down as necessary to accomplish certain goals as opposed to the slow moving conglomerates that rule today.
