I don’t have the figures, but basically the drivers do the math as if it’s a simple $/hr equation, that you can compare how much you make driving to how much you make in any other job. But they’re sacrificing the value of their car as well. The more mileage the car gets, the less valuable it becomes, and the more repairs and maintenance costs will add up.

And to add in some of my own thoughts, the danger of being on the road is also not factored in. The more you drive the more risk there is that you or someone else will make a mistake and put you in danger or mess up your car. I dunno there’s a mess of factors I don’t want to spend too much time laying out because they’re obvious and I don’t know the details like how mileage and being a rideshare driver effects your insurance premiums, and the possibility of injury, medical bills, accident related increases in insurance premiums, whatever.

I hope that makes sense.

Agreed but that only works if you have a lot of cash on hand or a good income where you can divert a lot of it to investing.

All my DRiP payments lately have been happening at the highs... when I buy dips, it usually dips lower, and when I don’t, it usually comes back up. I dunno, I need to get my shit together and make more money, that’s the real issue.
