Junk silver is sold by face value times a factor if you buy in any quantity. Nobody even looks at individual coins. I buy it by the bag and there is everything from slicks to almost UC in the pile. Big boys don't give a flying fuck about whether or not junk silver has been cleaned. I can't even imagine what a junk silver dealer would say if I returned a coin because it had been cleaned.

Besides, I don't plan on selling. By the time my silver comes into use, there will be no such thing as "spot".

Numismatics is another matter. But dirt common Franklins and Kennedys have no numismatic value at all.
