there are a few huge deposits out there with parks on top of them. In BC alone, Bowron Lakes park is believed to guard a 10moz deposit of gold that was forgotten after the second world war, as well as a few platinum and copper deposits as well. Windy Craggy, one of the worlds largest copper cobalt deposits sits on the BC / AK borders on the West Coast, turned into a provincial park in the late 1970/80s. I would not be surprised if many of these parks were considered to be strategic resources last century but were forgotten about and now likely to never be mined again, at least not this century that is. The public outcry would be to great and any operations would be easily spotted.

At Beta Hunt, the discovery was made by accident, the ore was extremely high grade but concentrated in two sets of narrow paralleling quartz veins away from the main nickel ore body the mine was originally after. Drilling and geophysics never detected these veins due to the nearby nickel ore body. This vein is being specially mined by traditional miners, recovering as much of the material intact as possible for sale as specimen gold ore, which is sold to mills and collectors instead of general milling for bullion. Its incredibly rich rock, some parts were over 4,000 ounces a tonne.

I want to find some ore like this in the coming summer and make a table top out of it.

that ores worth more as treasure than smelted down into bullion, seeing free mill gold like that on that scale is insanely rare now outside australia and i would be choked if they just dumped it all down the ball mill. They should do like the Beta Hunt Mine in Australia did with their massive gold ore find, sell off blocks to gem makers.

no for the most part when your underground everything is coated in mud and rock dust, you dont usually get to see the ore unless your right at the working face. This ore came from a specific amazing discovery last year at the Beta Hunt nickel mine in Australia. several tons of high grade gold were unearthed by accident there. Pic is more of the ore.
