If you've picked a gold ball, that means you've either picked box 1 or 2. Since box 1 contains twice as many gold balls as box 2, it's twice as likely that picking box 1 has lead you to picking a gold ball. And so it's twice as likely that the next ball is gold rather than silver as well. And when you have two possible outcomes where one is twice is likely as the other then the probs are 2/3 and 1/3.
