Oracle already has the use cases lined up, pic related.
All that needed to be done was Chainlink simply had to expand mainnet beyond Defi price feeds.
In other words: all they had to do was deliver a mainnet as described in the 2017 white paper.

Oracle asked for this in February, nearly 9 months ago, and Chainlink appears to have flaked.

Oracle needs feeds for pic related, real external data.
And Chainlink has 16 days to deliver, but they won't.

Six months ago, Oracle announced they would integrate Chainlink by Q3.
And Chainlink knowingly flaked.
