I see so many obvious scams promoted here with staking as the only selling point. I hope you understand that unless a token has some kind of compelling FUNDAMENTAL value proposition, then staking in itself doesn't mean anything. You are just making interest on your worthless monopoly money, to be paid in more worthless monopoly money.

Well, I bit the bullet and paid taxes on my crypto. Did all crypto-crypto trades as taxable events (used bitcoin.tax), slapped an 8949 on my return, and all done. Still got more back on my return than my crypto taxes were.

All in all: pretty painless, paid my shekels and will sleep easier knowing the IRS won’t come fuck up my life when I start cashing out some day.

To everyone who didn’t pay taxes, enjoy living in fear for all time.
