Bitcoin is an intangible. It's quite literally the game-changer. I know econ fags don't like to hear this because it wasn't taught in your overpriced econ classes in college, but you'll have to face the facts eventually.

>One "flaw" with Brave that I see people point out all the time is "WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST USE BITCOIN/ETH??" instead of making their own token. I think the answer to that is complex but one glaring reason to me is, PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO USE BITCOIN AS A CURRENCY. The mindset right now is, "If I spend Bitcoin, I will be like the man who spent 10,000 Bitcoin on 2 pizzas, and I will regret it"

Bitcoin is no longer seen by its own supporters as a currency. It's akin to "digital gold". Completely disingenuous to be upset with Brave for not using BTC when the (more likely than not) fact is, literally nobody would donate/spend BTC if it had been used.

Makes me cringe to see Bitcoin Maximalists (many of whom actually USE BRAVE) in essence claim they would donate BTC to content creators. I'm going to call you on your bullshit there. They never in a million years would tip using Bitcoin, because they believe that BTC could go to $50,000 some day. That's fine. BAT is already, right now being used to support content creators. That's the floor of its use cases, it will only build from there.

This is somewhat off-topic, but there's a VERY good chance Pewds browses /biz/ and a 100% chance he browses 4chan.

He uses 4chan memes, /pol/ in particular. The guy is a regular on this website.

It's a shit game, but I'll be damned if that Ninja streamer didn't take advantage of its popularity in the most perfect way possible. His story is actually really interesting - he played all the Battle Royal games and then hopped on the Fortnite meme early because he saw it becoming huge, and it did. He basically invested in it early by getting really fucking good at it, then his stream exploded as the game exploded. His business vision is actually incredible.

He also accepts BTC and shitcoin donations on his Twitch stream. Smart kid.

In terms of the "digital gold" analogy, Bitcoin being slow and expensive to transfer is perfect and makes sense. You're not going to be buying things with Bitcoin, I think it's time we give up on that dream. However, we don't buy things with Gold. Gold these days is a store of value, much like Bitcoin will be in the future. Bitcoin's value lies in the fact that it is the original blockchain currency and it is permanently tied to the other currencies. Everyone will always know of Bitcoin as the original.

The other currencies will pick up the slack for real life uses, but Bitcoin's position should be comparable to Gold. We need Bitcoin to have steady growth in value in order for the actual useful cryptos to explode.
