I never said I'm a genius. In fact, I very specifically remember mentioning that I'm "not genius level" ....

I'll submit about 50 applications, and get a response from 4-5 of them.

I'll go to the interview, try my best to build rapport with the employer, present myself as super professional, but it seems to keep boiling down to how my education isn't transferable to the job at hand.

I majored in business economics. I'm from a rural community. A perfect job for me would be a 'business analyst' position. I've been applying for local finance/accounting positions because I DO have a skillset pertinent to those fields, but, I keep getting "unfortunately, we..." e-mails.

I went through the interview process with a financial institution a few months ago. They gave me the run around for 2 weeks straight. I was interviewed by 3 separate managers, stayed in contact over the phone with an HR guy, and even shadowed a manager for the day. Everything seemed to align and I was finally going to get the job, until I checked my e-mail and, you guess it, "Unfortunately, we..."
