You can do a lot as long as you brush up on new software, or even throw together a shitty pamphlet on how you used your software, metrics, or analytics stuff.
If you can show any sort of competence, you'll be alright. And since you're 40, you will have higher chances of actually getting a good job because everything is fucked and employers don't care about people 35 and under.

Not worth all the bullshit and hoops you have to jump through just to get a clearance. Absolutely not worth it. The clientelle are all assholes, like all ex-millitary people that settle for an office job because of all their injuries from time spent in the army.
The moment you confront them about anything, they WILL resort to "I don't care about your opinion! I don't need this job! I have millitary retirement! :)"
