After the sudden immigration of russians the rent went up to European levels for a while ($1000+ a month).
Even before that, the communist era, roach ridden, filthy apartments are being sold for $100k+. In a shithole. In a dirty stinky shithole. In a dirty stinky unsustainable shithole. In a dirty stinky unsustainable shithole with $500 monthly wage and 12%+ mortgage rape rate. People literally slave for 30 years + to get these.
