Several influencers and key players are getting paid too.

Why does this matter?
The Xahau creators are on the XRPL Foundation's team.
The XRPL Foundation picks the validators for the UNL.
Now they will pick pro-Xahau validators which will undermine XRP and the XRP Ledger.

They're trying to turn the XRPL into their smart contracts platform, crippling the XRPL's payment features.
