I hear you, but I'm a greedy bastard. Yesterday before I went to sleep I set a buy limit at $181. I'd set one for $205 tonight, but that may be a reach and then in the morning it'll be $230. The volatility is difficult to gauge, like trying to catch the knife every night. Like you say pretty unhealthy

I have like 200 but I'm super poor at the minute and don't get paid till the end of the month. Not sure whether to just eat rice for the next 3 weeks and keep it or withdraw for shopping. Will I regret withdrawing it? Will it go up substantially or just a bit? It's only £45 but I have 0.30p in my bank account atm so I dunno what to do

When purchasing an asset to sell it, does the purchase and selling price matter in terms of profiting. My friend wants to know how to maximize profit on an ounce and whether he should sell his $15 gs first or $10 gs first.

That's the qualifier right there, "if they are important to infrastructure". In politics, rhetoric is just that, rhetoric. If Sony were to implode truly, the devastation economically and by way politically for the Abe Administration would be too great to hold to that empty promise.

You can bet your sweet gipper that if Sony needs a bailout they'll get it, and their business will be deemed "important to Japanese infrastructure, as the cornerstone of Japanese tech engineering" or whatever the fuck. Exact same thing happened in the states with GM, despite the fact that the automobile industry is not directly related to infrastructure concerns and is highly competitive; ie losing GM would not have meant a dearth of cars.

Sony's ace in the hole is that they hold tens of thousands of people's jobs hostage, jobs that would go to South Korea and China otherwise. Abenomics indeed

>cut costs on specs/build
>doesn't cost arm and leg, undercuts occulus
>sell at $200 USD
>marketing campaign towards kids

Seems like smart business to me. The average 13 year old is not going to care about resolution or know anything about the actual quality of the product, they'll want it because the idea's cool. The intended market isn't really hardcore enthusiasts, its parents of those kids when Christmas rolls around. As long as it isn't cost prohibitive, it could sell very well

What would it take for Sony to find success with the IPTV service they announced? Is it plausible that Sony could successfully illicit the participation of enough content providers to make the service a worthwhile replacement of traditional cable?

I get the sense after their announcement that they are unusually confident about the service, and seem to be waiting to play their hand in terms of demonstrating how far along they may be, particularly in terms of infrastructure potential.

Also in terms of content, I could forsee Sony pulling a coup by securing rights to major sports leagues. Live sports is the one thing cable still has over hulu and the like, but if Sony can convince the NFL/MLB/Premier League to give them broadcasting rights through the service, it instantly becomes a major favorite. There is precedent for this; Sony already has strong ties to the MLB through their MLB live service available on the PS3. Imagine paying only $40/month to stream every major sport broadcast along with a handful of participating providers (Viacom would be game to stick it to NBC Universal Comcast Subway, for example). People would love that shit
