How can this achieve 10% growth every year? Is the economy just growing perpetually? Will this continue for another 50 years?

> Vanguard

name speaks for itself. Why is Vanguard high dividend yield index fund only yields 3% ? if the average return on stock market yields ~7%* the dividend focused fund doesn't even yield half ? I was kinda hoping for nearish 6-7%.

It doesn't even cover current inflation numbers so seriously wtf ?

*hard to get this figure right

I read someone here the other day mention SCHD/JEPI/VOO as a patrician portfolio. What about VTI/JEPI or SPY/QQQ/JEPI?

Why do they control 8 trillion in assets but are not a public company?

OH NO NO NO

After inflation, you'll be lucky to make 2% a year on your VTI. VXUS, enjoy negative returns for decades to come. You will own nothing (you don't have any ownership in the companies via index funds) and you will be happy (with your 2% + 1.2% dividend) and you VILL eat the index bugs

Continuation of my last thread. Why would you buy VTI and hold 2800 parasitic companies over building a top shelf portfolio of dividend champions like Pepsi, JPMorgan, Target and Apple?

You can easily cut the expense ratio out by buying KO PG AAPL MSFT GOOG BRKB NVDA JNJ V MA etc. on Fidelity

>No trading commissions
>No expense ratios
>No middlemen

Why is everyone so addicted to index fund investing?

We are finally going back to stock picking and individual investing again. Thank GOD, bogleheads and index cult members were ruining it for everyone, yeah let's give Vanguard all the votes and power.

Stop buying VT, start buying V and T yourself
