I'll ask it in here too, can someone help me understand why a squeeze even happens in the first place? I guess this would apply to any shorted stock, but unless every share was being held to reduce supply and drive up price what prevents the repeated buying and selling of the remaining portion of shares, to make good on the returning of the borrowed shares?
