I guess I can't complain since 10% in a week is good for most investments, but I'm disappointed I never mooned like so many other anons seem to have done.

Is it too late to make money off the Pound or should I convert? Has it fully recovered?

If you're still watching this thread OP, that resume will get you a job that you'll actually like. Sure it'll pay less, but basically it's a few years to then get a job you actually won't dread going to.

I've been a portfolio manager for a mid-sized investment firm for the past four years. First job out of college, $90k salary, 55 hour weeks.

I have an interview tomorrow for a financial management position at a video game startup. I'll only be making 50k, but I'll be surrounded by people who love anime & vidya and every employee is given a free Nerf gun when they start. And the funny thing is, I want this job way more than I ever wanted the one I have now.

You kind of forgot that all /biz/ cares about is making money, that's why this board exists.(aside from being a containment board for shitcoins)

Maybe this thread would have been better suited for /diy/ or another board focusing on building/homes?

What you aren't realizing is that the price of a "great(subjective) house" is dependent upon the country, location in said country, neighborhood, etc. Where I'm from, NJ, you couldn't buy an outhouse in the middle of a lake for 80k, but in the Southeast of the United States property is a lot cheaper. And nice homes can be purchased for 80k. Again "great" is very subjective. And also location, location, location....your 230k house would price differently depending on where it is.

So IMO there is no reason to beat up on the guy who bought a fixer upper, in a less expensive area. You had different real estate/life strategies, he essentially flipped a fixer upper, pocketed the income, and he did or will buy his dream home.

Also it is usually cheaper to customize a pre-existing house then it is to build from the foundation up.

>tl;dr /biz/ cares about making money, not building houses

$12/hour

Intern for an investment firm for high-net-worth individuals. Pay is shit compared to what the full-timers make, but I've learned more about the markets in the six months I've worked there than my 3 years of university.

Protip: If you want to go into finance, don't major in finance. The degree is fucking easy and does a pisspoor job of teaching you how this shit actually works. Any job that actually involves following markets will want a compsci or math/statistics degree. I was an idiot and didn't do my research, and now I'm getting a worthless piece of paper.

Fortunately the firm I work for is already planning on hiring me on once I graduate to do portfolio evaluation for them. Pay will be $65,000 a year with full health coverage and max 401k match. It's not much for the industry, but I figure once I spend a few years doing that,I'll actually be able to find jobs at other firms while also growing my own portfolio.

I also plan on getting into angel investing with the ideal goal of eventually getting into a full-time career in venture capitalism.
