Lupus is an autoimmune disease; there isn't a cure for it at the moment and some forms have far more severe side effects than others. CRBP is shilling its 'novel therapeutic' med for it. I've only skimmed their lenabasum shit so I could be a tad wrong, but the molecule doesn't already exist.
What exists is the endocannabinoid system that they're targeting, and weed contains compounds (THC/CBC, can't recall) that binds to certain receptors within it, reducing inflammation, etc., whatever. CRBP is creating a synthetic compound that also targets and binds this system/those receptors, so it isn't just 'dude why not smoke weed instead tho', it's specialised.
