Fine. Whatever.

I should be thankful there are people like you who don't understand home ownership so my family can keep renting out properties so I can live rent/mortgage free for the rest of my life.

Hrm... Interesting that the trade unions were finally legalized in Europe around 1871 after being around since the 1830's. Their popularity in the 1890's due to working conditions seems to be very prevalent and increased in popularity. Something related to this perhaps.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eight-hour_day

Also the 8 hour work day was instated because many people still worked more than that.

You are completely wrong about people normally working 80 hours a week before the industrial revolution.

Most farmers would rise sometime after the sun rose, work, have a very long lunch, get back to work, then stop when the sun went down. During winter they'd hardly work at all.

Also the catholic church gave the peasants more holidays off than we have today. Also free wine and bread on Sunday!

Also let's not forget than unbridled capitalism led to monopolies like Standard Oil. These companies crushed competition, raised barriers to entry, and simply forced people to deal with their services however they saw fit.

Also keep in mind if it legal to kill you and make a profit, capitalism says that is fine.

People were eating rat shit in their food in the 1910's. People were driving death traps in the 1950's and 60's. People were selling fake drugs that poisoned you for profit in the late 1890's.

Not to mention that insurance companies were denying procedures to terminally ill patients because it was too expensive in modern times.

Look, I like my portfolio to go up more than the next person, but I'd rather be alive and poor then dead and lots of money to line my coffin with.

Oh more lewls. Seriously, has no one realized they are posting on 4chan? The site that has a board just for cartoon images with girls with dicks?

If you really were the awesome sauce you say you are, you'd be on one of those moderated websites that you have to apply to.

Simple solution. Give a poor person $1000 if they get a vasectomy or tie their tubes.

Sure it will be expensive in the short run, but then you don't have to support the dozen or so children each of these people would have had.

I mean you aren't really offering any solutions other than "Waaah! Poor people are bad!"

I don't know. White collar jobs are rather expendable and outsource-able.

Maybe this is anecdotal, but from my impression most people who have a white collar job are generally abused and blackballed if they fall out of line.

Considering the deluge of bachelor's degree, it is a fact that the highest percentage of college students are now master degree seekers.

Simply because bachelor's gets you a poop paying job. As in you are paid less than people in unions and work more hours.

My ancestors were slave owners in Jamaica and owned a plantation. We can trace our ancestors to nobility in Scotland.

When my father kicks the bucket I stand to earn $500,000 worth of assets. My mother has about $150,000 worth of assets that she lets on. Maybe more since my grandfather on my mom's side was a millionaire. He was self made. My father's side however passed their wealth from generation to generation.

Being an only child I get this all and I did nothing except be born to get this. So I could in theory stop working when I get my inheritance.

This should grind your gears and I'll admit I shouldn't get it because I am a horrible person.

I don't understand how poor people can tolerate capitalism. Its really not in their benefit.

I will most likely make my own nest egg before I get my inheritance because I love to invest. I hoard stocks so that's where most of my income goes. But I suppose that had something to do with me being able to have my parents pay for my education.

The rest of you scrubs will lick capitalism boots and sings it praises.

Seriously, you should be socialists and tax my inheritance to high heaven.

Oh yeah the convergence theory.

It says that poor countries will have higher growth than rich countries because of certain criteria.

However, it only works when countries support things like education. Apparently liberty doesn't matter. Poor countries that did not support education are still poor.

Oh.... I suppose that means that government that had government spending into education came out on top.

Oh oh. That's not free market numbskull.

That is pretty obviously damn government intervention. Which is pretty much what State Capitalism is.

Seriously, who do you think pays for all those engineering degrees in China. Certainly not the poor people living in the backcountry who earn $1 a day.

It came from the goddamn state and the state run universities.
