Alright /biz/ my brother and I got into an argument over an economy structured on loans, debt, and inflation.
I'm convinced that it's possible and has been the case in the past that there have been functioning economies without a debt based currency, and interest on loans.
However, my brother keeps saying "You can't have any business growth without banks willing to give loans on interest!"
Is he right? Am I just a brainlet?
Or can a currency backed by something other than the Fed function without inflation?
Can a functioning economy exist without usury?

>find out next time, at 9:00 AM Central, the next episode of DBZ!
