lol. I know tempting it is to try to short the index but it's really hard to do successfully if you're not taking profits on every red candle. I tested the hell out of this scenario and the entry/exit points to do it well are very tight. The buoyant nature of the index is such that a good multi week downward trend comes along maybe three or four times every ten years and the rest of the sell signals turn out to be quick single week or couple day fake outs. In most case you will perform better by taking out cash on sell signals (if you're long already), waiting out the dip, and buying the rebound.
