First, you do 5 heats with 5 random horses each, giving the fastest 15 using the top 3 form each. Next, race the top 1st place winners. The ones that get 4th and 5th AND the ones in their inital heat are disqualified, leaving you with 9 from the other 3 initial heats. (5 RACES)
Here is where I am not sure, but obviously the 2nd and 3rd 1st places of the 1st place race aren't verified as the 2nd and 3rd fastest horses.(RACE #6)
In RACE #7, you actually already know the #2 3rd place horse isn't possibly in the top 3 fastest horses overall, so you can actually race the #1 2nd and 3rd places, #2 1st and 2nd places, and #3 1st place. Top 2 are you 2nd and 3rd overall fastest horses.
The minimum and maximum number of races is 7. Would someone verify this. Sorry if the format is confusing. I know it's WTFWT time, but this took me a minute to iron out. Happy trading frens :)
