I want to cry.

Every aspect of my life is complete and utter shit. I have no friends. My parents hate me and think I’m weird. I’m ugly as fuck, I have no personality, I have no skills, I work in a dead end job. I am 25, I have no hope of ever getting married, owning a home, having normal relationships, making a decent amount of money. I have no hope in life at all.

There’s a certain personality type that will never thrive in a relationship. Ever heard the phrase “familiarity breeds contempt”? If it applies to you, you’ll always be miserable.

I find myself absolutely residing everyone around me after a few years with them. The way they look, their mannerisms, I just start to hate them, even though I know rationally they’ve done nothing wrong and are better than me. It’s a terrible thing to have happen because very suddenly you just want to pack your bags and disappear.

Now that I’m older (25) my parents will actually discuss money with me.

Literally EVERYONE is fucking loaded in 2021. My uncle randomly made half a million dollars on a 10x COVID testing stock. My older brother is flinging around 50k on stocks and makes 500k a year as a physician. My father made 600k in the last year alone. My younger cousins are flipping real estate.

Literally everyone is rich in 2021, I honestly think if you’re not a millionaire by 30 you’re poor. This is ridiculous, my net worth is only 50k, I’m like 10th percentile for my age. Where is everyone getting all their money?

If your hobby is finance and you’re not a 1%er in net worth for your age, you’ve failed. It’s like someone that works out five days a week but gets out lifted by a newbie.

I’m a fully employed mechanical engineer with a $75,000 salary, I have no debt and around $170,000 in savings. I live in my car to avoid having to pay rent because I am so averse to spending money. I still have an iPhone 5s that my parents got for me during college, that’s how I’m writing this. I shower at the gym, I get gym membership through company.

Nobody knows I live in my car, not even my parents. I can’t stop saving money, I keep saying once I hit a certain point I will be worthy of having a home or an apartment but once I hit that savings amount I just push it back further. I keep thinking I don’t have enough saved for an apartment, I think of all the bad things that could happen to me in succession (like getting injured or something and being unable to work, having to buy a new car etc) and then I would lose all my savings.

What should I do?
