I am kinda new to this cryptocurrency thing. I wrote an essay back at school about it (2012 aprox.) but never got around buying some because of difficult financial times. Shit has gotten better, but with political uncertainty and international financial trickery. A little worried about my mother losing her saved wealth. I am not old yet and want to protect my family, specially my mother. I have some money to spare, so I am willing to use a significant amount of those savings in cryptocurrency. I am not buying to make some quick money, but rather to keep it as crypto forever (unless I am forced to get out due to heavy handed regulation, which is unlikely where I live since most people are still playing catch up).

My question is how do I go around doing it? From what I have read, and in a tentative order of more desirable to less desirable for my aims, it would be convenient to buy bitcoin, ethereum, chainlink, ripple, bitcoin sv and lumens (not sure how the portfolio would end up as). Do I use a wallet for each one of these, use an exchange like kraken (should I use another one) or go with something like stakenet and related services? My family already has a small business going that, thanks to the lord, has survived this covid-19 nonsense. I just want to at least protect and give back, for my family, a small part of what they have given me, a barely functional schizo, as opportunities in the face of these times of great change beyond the control of most of us.
