I predict that real estate prices will drop substantially (but not dramatically) in late 2020, early 2021.

What are the factors that increase prices of homes?
1. Demand exceeding supply.
2. Increased money supply making cheap credit available.

The monkey wrench is covid hysteria.

The US population had grown by only 0.5 in 2019 due to low immigration and low birth rates along with boomer death. The lowest since 1919.

Covid further decreases immigration.

Mortgages will go down because banks won't lend to people living off unemployment.

Therefore, homeowners will have to lower their prices to entice people to buy homes.

This will not be a collapse of the real estate market but it will mean sweet deals coming in the next few months for those lucky enough to still have a job.

Then, when the economy recovers (however that will look), prices will go up again as Fed money burns a hole in the bankers' safes.

So the window of opportunity is the next 12 months.
